Otis Luxton is a maker and repairer of stringed musical instruments. He has a passion for creating instruments that are functional, timeless and unique. He specialises in guitars, ukuleles and mandolins alongside more unusual instruments from further afield. Rejecting the ‘lore’ of conventional luthiers, Otis uses predominantly home-grown timbers. He uses traditional luthiery construction methods throughout all his work, whilst experimenting with new shapes and sounds. Otis’ work is inspired by folk music, vernacular crafts and other forms of traditional & contemporary woodwork. Otis will be giving on-going demonstrations throughout the weekend, outlining the various techniques involved in the craft of luthiery.
