WoodcarvingOh what a treat! Bigger and better than ever. We have expanded this section with more demonstrators and a dedicated shop area. We are hoping to confirm a stone carver for added interest and don't forget our noisy chain saw carver (not all the time!) who will be situated down by Jon Tiplady the wheelwright and the International Boat Building College.
Lenka Pavlickova joins us for the first time. She has made marionnettes for big film corporations. She carves these by hand using Pfeil woodvarving tools.
The carvers will be in one of the large marquees. |
Prague Marionette
Lenka Pavlickova will be exhibiting at the show for the first time this year. Lenka offers marionettes and glove puppets which she has skilfully hand-carved from linden wood. They are then preserved in bees wax before she hand paints them herself in transparent oil paint which keeps the character of the wood.

 | Peter Berry
Peter will be well known to readers of Woodcarving Magazine, which regularly features his informative and instructive articles on the carving of country folk, distinguished by their charm and depth of character. A Yorkshireman born and bred, Peter derives much of his inspiration for his characters from his own northern background.
His work is hallmarked by the depth of research conducted into his subjects, as well as his distinguished carving style. Peter likes to bring a simple and uncomplicated approach to all aspects of his work and tuition. He has taught and demonstrated in a variety of situations and is a firm believer that, with the right combination of the three Ts TIMBER, TOOLS and TUITION even real novices in the craft are often capable of producing a great deal more than they might suppose.
Peter will be demonstrating Flexcut tools. |

Ian Sanders - The Original Tree-Table Maker
The concept was to make furniture look like the trees from which the wood comes from. As far as he knows, he is still the only person making tree-tables of such a form.
